GetYourButtSeen on the East Coast
Just look at that storm cloud in the background! Could it be the whirlwind media frenzy that our iconic GetYourButtSeeen bottom is bringing to Halifax?
Metro Halifax has already picked up the story, and we hear there’s been talk of the campaign on the radio, too. Response has been very positive, but some worry it’s too edgy.
Get shocked and get SCREENED, we say!

Your in Edmonton too! Saw a bus yesterday and knew what it was before I was close enough to read it! So glad to see the advertising is making its way across Canada!

Dear SJ,
We know that this campaign is shocking- but so too is the fact that colorectal cancer still kills 9,100 Canadians per year even though it is potentially preventable.
We warmly invite you to explain to your daughter why we used this shocking imagery, and to discuss healthy lifestyle choices with your daughter. We are truly interested in hearing how you would promote donations and screening, and so we also warmly invite your whole family to take part in our International Public Service Announcement Contest. We will be accepting print, video and audio entries as of September 1st, and I would be glad to give you more details about how you could have your say!
Best wishes for health and happiness, and please accept our apologies for offending you!

What a horrible advertisment. I agree that there is better ways of advertising. This is pornographic . I have four children under the age of 7 and they all saw this advertisment. I try really hard, especially at home, to make sure they are not subject to seeing these kinds of things. Disgusting. You can discuss healthy lifestyle choices in so many other ways then using pornographic advertisments.

We appreciate your concern.
Perhaps this would be a good time to have a frank conversation with your young children about this disease? We invite you to gently explain that the reason this backside appears on the bus is to make sure people are remembering to see their doctors about their check-ups to check for a certain below-the-belt disease. Also, since colorectal cancer is a highly preventable disease, this would be a wonderful opportunity to remind your family to eat healthfully and exercise regularly!
The CCAC never aims to offend, but we do aim to remind people just like you to think about their digestive health.
