Area cancer patients wait longer for treatment, report finds

OTTAWA — Despite a major expansion of cancer services, patients in eastern Ontario are still waiting longer for radiation treatment than their counterparts in other parts of the province, a new report shows.
And the situation does not appear to be improving, according to the annual report released Wednesday by Cancer Care Ontario and its watchdog, Cancer Quality Council of Ontario.
