ABOUT THE CCAC
The CCAC believes all Canadians over the age of 50 should be screened for colorectal cancer and people with a family history of the disease should be screened earlier. Regular screening and healhty lifestyles are the best ways to prevent colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer is 90% curable if caught in its earliest stages. It is the second leading cause of cancer deaths overall in men and women.. Even though it is preventable, an estimated 22,000 Canadians were diagnosed with CRC this year and an estimated 9,100 sadly died from the disease.
The CCAC is a registered charity and non-profit association whose mission is to increase awareness and educate Canadians about colorectal cancer, support patients and their families. We advocate for population based screening and timely and equal access to effective treatments to improve patient outcomes.
